The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is hosting their annual Holiday Art Exhibit in the NWMAC gallery at River Walk Artists in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The exhibit will be available to view through January 10, 2016. This past weekend I attended the artist’s reception and had the honor of meeting a few of the fellow artists that participated in the exhibit. It’s so fun to meet area artists and visit with them about their technique and process.
From the NWMAC website:
Featured works include whimsical pieces, including the oil painting “Snowman Fun” by Sue Ouellette, “If you Give a Moose a Candy Cane,” an acrylic painting by Erin Nelson of Grand Forks, and a mosaic-encrusted chair by Elizabeth Rockstad of Ada, Minnesota. The exhibit also includes sublime landscape photographs by Raul Consing of Grand Forks, watercolors by LaVonne Forsberg of Thief River Falls, and glassworks by Jolene Juhl of Greenbush, MN.
Other participating artists are: Brenda Baumer, East Grand Forks, oil painting; Elisa Boushee, Grand Forks, acrylic painting; Phyllis Kalliokoski, East Grand Forks, watercolor; Lynne King, Alvarado, photography; Carolyn Meisel, Grand Forks, acrylic painting; Courtney Olson, Crookston, acrylic painting; Jan Osborn, Thief River Falls, acrylic painting; Jessica Pribula, East Grand Forks, acrylic painting; Kathryn Rynning, Kennedy, photography; Leanna Sandahl, Thief River Falls, acrylic painting; Betsy Saurdiff, Grygla, reductive printmaking; Dale Sickels, Grand Forks, watercolor painting; Alicia Spilde, Karlstad, mixed media; and Karlee Westrem, East Grand Forks, acrylic painting.
The pieces that I entered into the exhibit were Spirit Moose and Wild. I was so happy to hear that Spirit Moose actually sold. A first sale for me at the River Walk Artists gallery!
